  • Cries of Witchcraft

It's saddening and shocking to hear
that accusations of "witches" are still heard
and believed in the Niger Delta area

Such incidents not only put the pastors and supposed prophets
to questionable shame but also show what
religion ought not to be like

It is not about abandoning your child because you
trust an outsider who says he is a witch
It is not accusing him of being the cause of the
separation between you and your husband
It is not blaming your illness on the magical powers
    of your child's potent witchcraft

The ignorance of man becomes prey
to the selfish desires of another
who claim to reveal the evils of the land

The only evil at work here
    are the deceiving adults themselves

Quite strange that such ideas still exist in our time.

I wonder, will it ever end? Will we transcend our past crimes against reason?

The locals there are afraid of witchcraft and that has become the ultimate tool that they fall prey to...

The sad thing is that the children suffer for their beliefs...

It will end if those with reason speak up against it and show them the truth. Seems like at least one man in the area is doing that.
